Beauty In Strength Woman Of The Month

Each month at Beauty In Strength we highlight one of our valuable members that has put extraordinary effort into her fitness. BiS is about recognising the pure Beauty we have in every aspect of our lives. It’s not just about how we turn up everyday to training it’s how we ‘show up’ to life on a day to day basis.

Please introduce yourself and tell me a little about yourself and your work?

Hey, Im Corinna. My goal is to live my life to the fullest and make the most of every day. I am originally from London and have lived in Australia for the last 5 years.

I am a weight lifting junkie by morning, cosmetic tattooist by day and domestic goddess by night *winky face*

What does Beauty In Strength mean to you?

As a woman, I find I am often having to justify my goals when it comes to training and how I want my body to look. This is typically to men, or women who don’t feel the same way about being active and healthy. Beauty in Strength reinforced how beautiful strength in women is and how sexy it can make a woman to be strong and beautiful. BIS reinforced that my goals should not impact on the way that I allow others to see me and reignited my flame for training, goal setting and culling people out of my life.

What were your initial goals before starting the BiS program?

When Darcia became one of my crossfit coaches she instantly inspired me with her knowledge and physique. One of my main goals before starting BIS was to learn as much as I could from Darcia so that I could become better and stronger at training without asking her a million and one questions whilst she was trying to train me. She is my fitness inspo and so the opportunity to take part in BIS and meet my goals was a no brainer.

How do you think your sessions have helped you?

Working with Darcia and taking part in the BIS sessions, reignited my passion for fitness after having a bit of a life crisis. By attending sessions with Darcia through Crossfit, PTing and BIS, she reinspired me to come back fighting, stronger and more focused than before.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?

I love exercising because of the way it makes me feel, not just physically but mentally. Exercise is so important in my life and is part of my core values. I love that something which is free has so many health and long-term benefits and leaves me feeling a million dollars. Plus it allows me to eat bundles of food and still stay in shape.

Has the BiS philosophy helped you in your everyday life? How?

YES! It has helped me remember that beauty is in strength and strength is beautiful… so simple, yet so effective.

My biggest success is my re-found love and passion for health and fitness. I lost my drive for a while, although I still trained, I did it because it was something I have always routinely done. But once I joined BIS I re-found my passion and drive and have new goals and things I want to achieve both in the gym and out with my physique and I am extremely grateful to Darcia, BIS and the BIS community for enabling that to happen.
